Rooted in Whitefish
Two decades of building in the Flathead Valley have taught us how a home should meet the mountains — how it should sit on the land, catch the winter light, and weather with grace. Every project we take on is shaped by this landscape.
Building Legacy
We believe a home is more than a structure — it is the backdrop of your life’s most meaningful moments. Our process is rooted in transparency, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the Montana landscape.
From site selection in the Flathead Valley to the final coat of oil on hand-hewn timbers, we collaborate with a select group of artisans to ensure your vision is realized without compromise.

The integrity of the structure is a direct reflection of the integrity of the process.

Inquire→How We Work
A patient, transparent process shaped by two decades of building in Northwest Montana. Every project starts as a conversation — and holds that conversation from first sketch to final key.
We begin at the concept phase, when the client is formulating ideas and defining what matters. We listen for how you’ll actually live in the space, and we build from there.
Design is collaborative from first sketch to final drawing. We move through a wide range of styles and aesthetics, backed by exceptional programming and integrated budgeting.
From the moment we break ground until we turn over the key, our job is to bring your vision to life — on schedule, on budget, and with obsessive attention to detail.
Homeowner Experiences
“We were very impressed with Jon and Somer’s commitment as they guided us through the design, site layout and build of our vacation home. They anticipated our needs and incorporated tweaks into the home design — a dream team, and we value their continued friendship.”
“Old Montana Building Company was the most efficient, dynamic, and fiscally accurate stewards of this deeply personal experience that our family could have hoped for. We look forward to sharing our dreams with their team again.”
Dr. Greg Vanichkachorn
The Red Lodge
“Jon and Somer walked us through the design process, giving us suggestions and helping us plan out our dream home, while cognizant of our budget. Their approach made building a fabulous experience. We absolutely love our Old Montana home.”
